MREACH students

MREACH​ - Michigan Ross Enriching Academics in Collaboration with High Schools

MREACH brings high school students to Ross for a series of hands-on learning experiences. The program offers insight into the college application and financial aid process and provides academic and career preparation. Sessions are held one or two Saturdays per month from Fall to Spring at Ross.

Who Should Apply: 10th- and 11th-grade students from underrepresented groups, first-generation college students, and students from lower socioeconomic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. 12th grade students may apply, but will be placed on a waitlist.

Application Timeline: April 1- June 30

Program Timeline: August-April

Summer Business Academy

Experience business from this inside out this summer at the Michigan Ross Summer Business Academy. This two-week, residential program is designed for highly-motivated students who have an interest in business. Learn more about how companies run, understand how business leaders solve problems, and see for yourself what it's like to be a business student at Ross. 

Who Should Apply: Rising high school seniors and some juniors (on a space-available basis)

Application Timeline: November 4 - January 31

Program Timeline: June 19 - July 3

The Preparation Initiative

The Preparation Initiative (PI) is a learning community designed for University of Michigan undergraduates geared toward, but not limited to, underrepresented students who have demonstrated an interest in, and excellent potential for, business leadership, but who may have had limited previous exposure to rigorous academic courses. All serious, hard-working students with a genuine interest in studying and excelling in business are encouraged to apply. 

Who Should Apply: U-M first-year students looking to transfer to Ross with limited exposure to rigorous academics in high school. Applicants must be enrolled in one BBA prerequisite course.

Application Timeline: May 1- July 30

Program Timeline: Ongoing, from first through fourth year

Ross Summer Connection

Ross Summer Connection (RSC) is an academic learning community with a residential component geared toward incoming, high-potential Ross first-year students seeking early exposure to the rigor of Ross and U-M. RSC prepares participants for the transition from high school to college, helps form a community of peers, offers career preparation, and provides an authentic exposure to first-year required courses. Participants accelerate their social, academic, and personal development through courses and mentoring in an inclusive learning community.

Who Should Apply: This program is intended for students from underrepresented groups, first-generation college students, and students with limited exposure to rigorous academics in high school. It is by invitation only to incoming Ross first-year students.

Invitation Timeline: Invitations are sent March-April. 

Program Timeline: The residential four-week program runs July through August before a student’s first year at Ross. The academic portion of the program is ongoing through sophomore year.
