Listen: New Podcast Series Dives Deep Into The Lives of MBA Students Balancing School With Full-Time Jobs
A new podcast series from students in Part-Time MBA Programs at Michigan Ross debuts next month, focusing on the lives of MBA candidates who maintain their full-time jobs while pursuing the degree.
Mustafa developed the new podcast in collaboration with Michigan Ross, after struggling to find expressions of her and her classmates’ experiences elsewhere.
“Podcasts were a huge information source for me as I was deciding if and where I wanted to get an MBA,” Mustafa said. “But there wasn’t really a show dedicated to the lives of students who keep their full-time jobs while pursuing a degree. We have a lot of unique experiences and points of view that I think could really help listeners gain an understanding about what balancing it all really entails.”
New episodes of Working for the Weekend will be released every other week starting in July, with each episode focusing on a unique aspect of the part-time MBA experience, such as balancing marriage with the demands of an MBA program, how classwork impacts job performance, how to stay motivated while under stress, and what career recruiting looks like for part-time students, among other topics.
“Ultimately, we want to create a podcast that will open a window into the lives of working MBA students and can hopefully help someone who is on the fence thinking they can’t do it,” she said. “We want to tell them, ‘You can do it — we’re all doing it right now, every day. Tune in and we’ll show you how.’”
You can subscribe to Working for the Weekend wherever you listen to podcasts to be alerted when new episodes are available.
