We’re Glowing: Executive MBA Alum Named one of Poets & Quants’ ‘Best and Brightest’

Raymond Ip, MBA ‘17, has led and helped commercialize more than 70 innovative skin care products, some of which you probably use — think NEUTROGENA®, AVEENO®, CLEAN & CLEAR®, and LUBRIDERM®. The Director of Product Development and External Scientific Innovation at Allergan was recently featured in Poets & Quants’ list of “Best and Brightest EMBAs.”
In an interview with Poets and Quants, Ip says, “Before going back to school, I knew that the [Ross] EMBA program would be a great learning experience. But what I did not expect was how immediately applicable the new knowledge would be to my daily work. The chance to utilize and experiment with these new skills in the real-world setting further speeds up my learning process.”
In addition to his diligent work in the Ross Executive MBA Program and at Allergan, he’s also the founder and organizer of a multicultural dining club in New York City that boasts more than 100 members and hosts quarterly events. When he’s not enjoying global cuisine, Ip can be found satisfying his taste for adventure via kayak. He’s paddled his way through Australia, New Zealand, and even Antarctica!
Ip knows how to work hard and play hard, and we’re thrilled to count him as one of our own. Sue Gonis, Executive Coach and Career Consultant at Ross, says, “It was clear from the beginning that Ray Ip was the type of person who would excel in a rigorous MBA program like Ross. Ray gives 150% to everything he does, but what makes Ray so unique is that while giving his best he motivates others around him to be their best selves. It’s amazing just to witness the way Ray thinks and works.”
