Through Tears and Laughs Ross Students Take The Stage to Tell Powerful, Emotional Stories

A new podcast, out today from Michigan Ross students, shares powerful and emotional stories told during the finale of Story Lab, an event held by the Sanger Leadership Center.

Story Lab is an ongoing, semester-long event developed by Sanger in conjunction with the Design + Business Club that helps Michigan Ross students use storytelling and presentation skills to lead teams, build culture, celebrate achievements, communicate with impact, share visions, and exude presence.

The program features a twice-yearly storytelling retreat where students learn to hone their skills in voice, craft, and story delivery. It then wraps up with a live, on-stage storytelling event where participants share their stories with the community.

And now you can listen too. In a new episode of Business Beyond Usual, you can hear three stories from this past year’s Story Lab finale.

Stories include:

  • Sneha Bhattacharyya recapping her nightmarish first job after undergrad, which taught her a valuable lesson about speaking up in the face of injustice; and,
  • Claudia Ludlow Trejo discussing how she was forced into the strange and dangerous world of childhood kickboxing.

The episode also features a story and remarks from special guest Guy Raz, the host of two of NPR’s most popular podcasts, “How I Built This” and “TED Radio Hour.”

Business Beyond Usual is hosted by Ramu Annamalai, MBA ‘17, co-produced by a team of Ross students and sponsored by the Ross Student Government Association.
