Mind. Blown. 20 Reasons Why We're Impressed with Michigan Ross’ New Master of Management Class


We’re beyond excited about the incoming Master of Management class. These impressive students will spend 10 months at Ross adding business fundamentals to their undergraduate degrees, which range from molecular biology to musical theatre.

We know they’re going to do great things – and they already have. Here are just a few of their accomplishments:

  • Designed and programmed a never-been-done experience to explore the brain mechanisms behind mind-wandering in ADHD patients
  • Made a film that was a Launch Pad Selection for Cinetopia: Detroit Voices Short Film Festival
  • Assisted the Pediatric Care Critical team in clinical research trials at the C.S. Mott Children's Hospital
  • Conducted research on the endangered Kiwi bird population in New Zealand
  • Participated in collegiate athletics, including track and field, cross country, diving, lacrosse, volleyball, rowing, football, field hockey, wrestling, and sailing
  • Wrote an article published in the Journal of Clinical, Cosmetic, and Investigative Dermatology
  • Co-founded a company in Hangzhou, China focused on quantitative risk controls
  • Participated in the New England Literature Program, an intense, highly selective English program
  • Belonged to the U-M Solar Car Team and the Northwestern Solar Car Team
  • Designed and manufactured a ping-pong ball shooter

They’ve had some pretty cool gigs, including:

  • Working at Citigroup, Deloitte, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago
  • Working on the iPhone Product Operations team at Apple
  • Working at a leading drone services company
  • Working with the strategy department at Team Detroit
  • Working as an investment banking summer analyst at Four Wood Capital Partners LLC
  • Working in the Performance Division at Roush Industries
  • Working as an analyst at PwC in India

We’d say they’re going places, but they already have:

  • They’ve collectively traveled to more than 25 countries
  • They speak more than 15 languages
  • One student has lived in five different countries
