Poets & Quants Names Brian Wu One of the World’s 40 Top Professors Under 40

He likes to run (though he says some call it jogging) and once went three years without a cell phone. Maybe that provided the time and energy for the excellence in teaching and research that led Poets & Quants to name Professor Brian Wu one of the world’s best 40 professors under 40.

Wu says one of the things he most enjoys about being a business school professor is integrating academic research and practice, but sometimes it’s also the most difficult part.

But most memorable for him? “When students have told me that I had an impact, even if it’s a small one, on their thinking,” he says.

Wu teaches and researches strategy and is faculty director of China Initiatives at Ross.

Later in April, Wu will present a #ROSSTALKS lecture to Ross alums, current students, and prospective students in Shanghai. Wu will discuss “Value Chain Climbing by Emerging Market Firms,” and give attendees a bit of insight about effectively capitalizing on opportunities in emerging markets.

You can read the full profile in Poets & Quants to find out Wu’s favorite book and what he would have been if not a business professor. (Hint: The choices involve trees and food.)
