How does the world’s largest democracy grow from within to keep its economy moving? How do people in business, government, and society develop themselves to make that possible?

Explore some of the answers and other ideas at the 2014 University of Michigan India Conference, “The Growth Within,” Nov. 22 in New Delhi. The annual conference brings together dynamic business leaders and thinkers from India and the United States for the Michigan Ross and U-M community in India. Register to attend here.

Among the highlights:

  • Michigan entrepreneurs in India will host an Innovation Showcase that will focus not only on their ventures, but the kinds of enterprises India needs today.
  • Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and politician and academic Yogendra Yadav will discuss “Creativity and Freedom” — a conversation on what India needs to nurture itself and ensure it grows on the right path.
  • Michigan Ross Professor M.S. Krishnan and U-M School of Music, Theatre & Dance lecturer Jeremy Edwards lead a “Back to Class” session designed to inspire people to grow within.
  • Rajwanti Singh, panchayat leader of Posta, Madhya Pradesh, delivers the evening keynote on the importance of seeing beyond boundaries and putting collective interests first. She’ll also discuss her transition from housewife to village and national leader.
