U-M Graduates More Future Fortune 100 Execs Than Any Other Public University
As part of the world-class University of Michigan, here at Ross we develop leaders who make a positive difference — and who lead and influence the most prestigious U.S. companies.
According to a new report from executive compensation analysts Equilar, nine executives at Fortune 100 companies have an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. That’s more than any other public institution on the list, and No. 3 overall.
There’s no doubt these results are due in part to the unparalleled resources and experiences we offer at Michigan Ross. So how do we prepare students to rise to the top of the corporate ladder?
We’re leaders in leadership.
Consistently ranked a top business school for leadership, excellence in leadership is a cornerstone of the Ross experience. This is exemplified in the Ross Leadership Initiative, which immerses students in experiences that prepare them to thrive in complex, dynamic business organizations. From creating a socially-conscious venture in Detroit with the Impact Challenge to navigating a high-stakes corporate environment in the Leadership Crisis Challenge, RLI is the greatest hands-on leadership training program in the country.
After entering the career world, Ross helps professionals ascend with our Executive MBA and Executive Education Programs. The Ross EMBA features the Leadership Development Program, composed of workshops, guest speakers, team activities, and individualized coaching sessions to leverage and expand leadership. And in our Executive Education Program in Positive Leadership, participants spend five transformative days experiencing the latest in positive business research and leadership techniques, coming away with the tools to foster a culture of achievement, meaning, and profitability in their organization.
We connect students with powerful career resources.
Spanning more than 45,000 people in 88 countries, the U-M alumni network has a powerful reach. Combine that with Ross Career Services, and students have access to an exceptional set of resources and connections. Top employers know that Ross students are bright, energetic, and creative: hundreds of companies recruited on campus last year; and more than 1,110 of them posted a position on our job board.
We’re at the forefront of positive business practices.
Developing leaders who make a positive difference in the world is what we’re all about, whether we’re working toward creating a more sustainable society through the Erb Institute, researching positive business at the Center for Positive Organizations, or hosting the Positive Business Conference, which we introduced last spring. Through offerings like these, Ross students emerge with the knowledge and experience to not only positively impact the world’s most pressing social and environmental issues, but also to inspire a sense of purpose in others to be extraordinary.
