Application Requirements

Our admissions committee seeks to bring together talented students from a broad range of academic and professional backgrounds, including medicine, law, and public administration. Applications are reviewed holistically; no single factor determines the outcome.

In order to build a strong and diversified class, we look for experienced applicants with following key characteristics:

  • Strong intellectual ability as measured by GMAT or GRE and academic record.
  • Leadership, initiative, and impact as evidenced through professional achievements, extracurricular activities, recommendation, and personal essays.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills as demonstrated through the recommendation, essays, and interviews.
  • Clear goals and rationale for pursuing an MBA as demonstrated through essays and interviews.
  • Fit with the Ross approach to management education as demonstrated through essays and interviews.

Courses in management are not required for application; however, you are expected to have the capacity to handle the intensity of our learning environment and should have solid analytical, quantitative, and communicative skills. Once your application is received, we will confirm receipt via email. Then we will continue communicating with you to keep you up-to-date regarding the status.

Due to circumstances related to COVID-19, GMAT/GRE waivers are available to qualified applicants seeking Winter 2021 admission. Please see below for eligibility criteria.

SPECIAL NOTE: If circumstances related to COVID-19 make it difficult for you to complete the GMAT or GRE and you have more than four years of full-time professional work experience, you may be eligible to receive a test waiver.

  • Waivers are available only for students applying to enroll in the Global MBA program for the February 2021 start.
  • If you meet the criteria below, please attach your resume and all transcripts (unofficial) in an email to to request a waiver.
  • Performance on standardized testing is just one component of the application. The admissions committee reviews applications in a holistic manner; therefore, receiving a test waiver does not guarantee admission.
  • Candidates who do not meet waiver criteria are welcome to apply by including valid GMAT or GRE results with their application requirements.

Waiver Criteria

In order to qualify for a waiver, the candidate must have at least 48 months of full-time professional work experience (post completion of undergraduate degree). Candidates must also meet two additional criteria (at least one from each section):

IMPORTANT: This is NOT the official recommendation, but rather a list of the questions that will be sent to the individual you identify as your recommender in the application. The actual recommendation and ratings form must be submitted online by your recommender. Your application is not considered complete until we receive your recommendation.

  • Applicants' qualifications will be assessed through an interview. The interview is conducted to gauge fit, discuss future plans, understand the nature of your sponsorship, and to assess overall qualifications, goals, and readiness to enroll in an MBA.
