LiveWell is a medical rehabilitation facility in Tamil Nadu, India, which provides rehabilitation care and step down care for patients who have had major illness or undergone surgery but need additional support to develop necessary skills to live independently.
The team was engaged to help LiveWell approach its growth through a cultural lens focusing in three areas of culture: values, people, and operations. LiveWell’s objectives were to expand the facility from 35 beds to 100 beds over a period of three to five years. They are also striving to become a Center of Excellence for all rehabilitation needs. The student team’s objective was to define the fundamentals required for this expansion with culture as a central focus.
The team’s research involved both primary and secondary sources. Over 35 interviews were conducted, including interviews in India and in the U.S. The team then identified several recommendations to address issues and foster improvements at LiveWell. These recommendations focused on values, people, and operations.
