Liz Muller

Liz Muller is the inaugural director of Global Initiatives at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, and also holds a lectureship in Business Strategy. She develops and manages international programs for Ross undergraduate and graduate students, while working with the leadership team on international collaboration and strategy. In addition, Liz also manages Ross China Initiatives, a group of special projects aimed at developing the school’s brand and depth in the Chinese market. Since 2012, Liz has led the Global Initiatives team to tripling international opportunities for students in under four years. In 2011-2012,188 students had international opportunities through Global Initiatives, whereas in 2015-2016 the team served over 600 students. Liz has also developed a robust portfolio of international partnerships with Ross, increasing partner schools from 18 to 43.

Prior to joining Ross, Liz worked for The Johns Hopkins University at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center in Nanjing, China, a joint venture international affairs graduate institute located at Nanjing University. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Liz served several roles at this unique institute, including ones in international admissions, career services, academic services, and student life.  During her time in China, Liz also taught courses in Business English and college level Micro and Macroeconomics. Liz has previously served as assistant director of development for the School of Music at Yale University, most notably during the kickoff of the “Yale Tomorrow” capital campaign.  Her interests include building intercultural competence, language study, and leadership development.  Liz received her B.A. from Loyola University Chicago and her M.A. from Franciscan University.
