Hometown: Saginaw, Michigan
Hi everyone! My name is Priyanka and I am a Senior in the BBA program and School of Information. In high school, I knew I wanted to work somewhere in the business world, but struggled with visualizing what exactly that meant or how a college degree in business could play a factor. My junior and senior years of high school I had the opportunity to intern in the finance and administration department of a non-profit healthcare service provider. It was through this experience that I was able to see the impact that every single person in that company had- from the cubicles in the accounting department, to the physicians themselves- everyone played a role in bettering the community around them. I saw the impact that business can have as a trigger for change in various communities. After participating in the high school outreach programs that Ross has to offer, the community that I came to know was very personal. Specifically, I was impressed by the school's focus on positive business and their action-based approach to learning. My freshman year experience at Ross was certainly more than I ever could have hoped for. I am constantly surprised at just how willing everyone here is to serve as a personal or professional mentor (students and faculty). Ross has truly played a factor in making the large Michigan community feel like home.
