Nicole

Class of 2024

Hometown: Miami, Florida

Hi everyone! I am so excited that you are considering attending Ross! My name is Nicole, and I am currently a Junior concentrating in strategy and technology and operations. I am from Miami, Florida but decided to attend Michigan after being able to fly in for Ross All-Access Weekend! Having the opportunity to meet student ambassadors and hear about their experiences while taking seminars from world renown staff was surreal, and I am so humbled to now have the opportunity to be in the shoes of an ambassador! After getting to experience Ross for two years, I can genuinely say that Ross has an unmatched business program with a top-tier college experience. As a first-generation student with limited exposure to business, I was really concerned about being one step behind from my classmates. However, I can wholeheartedly testify that has not been the case! The collaborative environment fostered by

Ross accompanied by the infinite resources has allowed me to fuel my passion for positive business!

One of the unique aspects of Ross is their plethora of valuable experiences and organizations beyond the classroom! My first semester, I was able to join APEX Consulting, Michigan Investment Group, and Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity. In just one semester I was able to provide pro-bono consulting services to a fashion start-up, perform fundamental and quantitative analysis to present multifaceted investment strategies, and network with upperclassmen about their professional and social experiences. As I explored my interests more in-depth, I got involved as a Ross Tech Scholar, a paid opportunity in which I lead a variety of cross-campus programming, research on tech trends, and strategize the adoption of business technology throughout Michigan. As I became more involved with my campus communities, I took the role of President of the Ross Latino Association and Vice President of my sorority to hone in on my leadership skills and work alongside empowering students.

One of the coolest experiences I’ve had at my time at Ross has been the MO330 Leadership Expedition in Utah. The action-learning expedition is a capstone experience of the course, blending stunning landscapes with a unique self-leadership challenge, and an opportunity to integrate and apply course teachings. Alongside my professor and classmates, I spent seven days immersed in Utah’s Canyonlands navigating challenging obstacles and understanding the importance of self-reflection and teamwork. I can now check off climbing 5000+ feet canyons off my bucket list!

The opportunities and people I have met these past two years have made Michigan home. I am very grateful for everything Michigan has offered me, and can’t wait to pay it back! Do not hesitate to reach out, I would love to follow the foot-steps of upperclassmen and staff in helping other students find their way both professionally and personally!

What do you enjoy doing outside of class time?: I love to karaoke, dance, and have recently started taking trapeze classes!
