Kendall (Verbeek) Lynch
After an incredible experience in Ross’ BBA program, I knew that choosing to attend Ross’ MAcc would be a wise decision. During the MAcc program, faculty and staff at all levels were invested in my success, both as a student and as a person. I was supported throughout to program to set and achieve goals beyond my expectations. I was also able to leverage many assets of Ross and the entire University, attending MBA and Law School courses (and even one theater class)! If I got the chance to choose again, I would pick Michigan Ross’ MAcc program every time.
With the support of several members of Ross' faculty and staff (as well as some of the students), I was able to secure a one-year position at the Financial Accounting Standards Board as a Postgraduate Technical Assistant (PTA). This opportunity arose only due to the efforts of well-respected faculty, staff, and alumni dedicated to Ross MAcc students’ success. After this PTA position, I spent 3 years at Deloitte Advisory as a Senior Consultant and Manager implementing the very Accounting Standard that was my project while at the FASB (ASU No. 2016-02, Leases). However, it seems I couldn't stay away from U of M for very long because, after my time at Deloitte, I have returned as an Accounting PhD student at Michigan Ross. I am currently in my second year, working towards advancing to candidacy.
