Prior to graduate school, I spent my professional career in the social impact field. Upon completing my undergraduate degree, I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Rwanda where I taught English for two years and later extended to do HIV prevention work. After returning to the U.S., I continued in the HIV prevention sphere, working at various non-profits. My six years in social impact left me eager to develop more hard business skills as I work toward my long-term goal of creating a financially sustainable social venture. The opportunity to meet like-minded students through Business+Impact, have the support of a close-knit Consortium community, and pursue a dual degree in a top-ranked program made UM a clear destination for me for graduate study.
