Class of 2020

I originally grew up in Michigan, where I studied film studies, before spending 5 years in New York working in operations and human resources at a few startups. While building and supporting a team was incredibly fulfilling, I knew I wanted a role that was focused on the consumer so I decided to pursue an MBA to gather the skills necessary to become a brand manager. One of the things I loved most about my past experience was the team-driven nature of a startup. We had to rely on one another for the success of the business and spent every day learning by doing. Those were two aspects that were incredibly important to me as I chose where to attend business school. From day one, it was clear that Ross had a different approach to an MBA. Every student and admissions team member I chatted with felt like a real person. Even the interview process showed how supportive the Ross community is and exhibited their passion for action based learning. In just the first few months of joining, it's clear that my assessment was correct. Aside from the curriculum, I've been able to flex my newly found marketing skills by joining the Michigan Marketing Club, supporting the LGBTQ community by being an active member of Out for Business, and using my creativity by joining the board of Follies. More importantly, I get to do those things with a community that is dedicated to helping each other grow.
