Hometown: Grand Rapids, Michigan

Hey everyone! I'm super excited that you're thinking about coming to school here at Michigan Ross - it's one of the best decisions I've ever made! I'm currently a Senior concentrating in strategy and finance with a minor in Spanish, and I hail from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Growing up, Michigan was always one of the schools I wanted to attend. Whether it was hearing my grandparents share stories of their adventures in Ann Arbor or seeing the passionate school spirit Michigan fans have, I’ve always loved the campus and am thrilled to be a student here. I couldn’t imagine a college experience without Michigan as I’ve met some of my best friends here. I like to say Michigan is a small world on a big campus, and you’ll never run out of new friends to make! 

Going into my senior year of high school, I still wasn’t sure what I wanted to major in or what I wanted to do after graduating. My main interest in business was because I knew I would gain access to a world-class education to apply to any career, so no worries if you’re still trying to figure things out, too! I was drawn to Ross specifically because of the myriad of opportunities the school offers from speaker series to semesters abroad, its extensive alumni network, and the school’s emphasis on collaboration. I can easily say that coming to Ross has paid off since it’s truly helped me figure out my career interests in large part thanks to the classes and clubs here. On campus, I have worked on three projects with APEX Consulting and am heavily involved with Victors Value Investments. These hands-on experiences in consulting and finance allowed me to decide which career field to pursue, so I’m very grateful for the incredible clubs we have here! 

Outside of the business school, I also try to run on occasion and enjoy exploring the different restaurants in downtown Ann Arbor with my friends. Some things that I’m passionate about are summers in Northern Michigan, chocolate and any desserts, and listening to Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist each week. What is one of your favorite places to travel?: I love visiting Northern Michigan in the summers. Leland is one of my favorite places on earth, and I've spent my summers selling Petoskey Stones, exploring Lake Michigan, playing tennis, scooping ice cream, and waiting tables up there. I’m excited to visit again soon!
