Christopher Grant

Class of 2020

Shortly after beginning my career as a scientist in the biotechnology industry a decade ago, I began thinking about pursuing an MBA.  While I have enjoyed the continuous learning, challenging problems, and opportunities to work on product ideation that my career has provided; I knew I wanted to pivot towards a more strategic role, and pursuing an MBA was the way to do it.

I moved to Michigan three years ago after stops in Canada, Chicago, and San Francisco. It was here I began more seriously exploring part-time and executive MBA programs. I quickly noticed Ross separating itself from other programs with its top ranked faculty, focus on developing positive leaders, and an action-based curriculum.  As someone looking for a mild career pivot, a curriculum grounded in action-based learning, including a MAP project, was a strong differentiator for me when evaluating programs.  I soon realized the only true decision for me was the program format as Ross was the program for me.  I chose the weekend format as the twice monthly schedule worked best for both my family and work schedule while offering an attractive two-year cohort-based structure.

Although I’ve only been in the program a short time, I know I made the correct decision as I’ve already begun to witness the diversity and caliber of my classmates.  I feel privileged to be a part of the Ross community and I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have on the program.
