Celina DeFigueiredo-Dusseau

Hello! I am a 2017 graduate of the University of Michigan, where I earned my bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Movement Science. As an undergraduate, my endeavors prepared me to apply for medical school: pre-med courses, working in the medical school, volunteering in health related programs, serving as a TA in science courses. After completing an invaluable internship via U of M SEP working directly under the CEO of a hospital, I quickly realized that there is significantly more information associated with business acumen I needed to acquire that indirectly/directly impacts the broad field of healthcare. Through these experiences, I recognized I was drawn to the "big" picture and multiple aspects of healthcare, not solely primary patient care. This epiphany lead me to explore options for graduate school that would enhance attributes I possess, yet provide a foundation of essential business skills. After exploring many programs, I felt that the Master of Management program would provide me with the core business foundation and fundamental skills I need to make a positive impact in the healthcare industry. As a current student in the MM program, I am excited to combine my knowledge of science and healthcare with business principles. Upon graduation, I plan to pursue a career in healthcare consulting, in addition to other facets of healthcare management. Ann Arbor is a wonderful town that offers a myriad of adventures, opportunities, and an awesome variety of restaurants! Please feel free to reach out should you have any questions regarding the MM program, my experiences, or anything you would like more information about. ~ Go Blue!
