Alex Peaslee

Class of 2022

I lived my entire life on the tiny island of Manhattan until I moved to Ann Arbor to come to Ross. I went to Barnard College, where I studied Art History. When it came time to get a job, I did not want to lose that proximity to creativity but also wanted to indulge the New Yorker in me that is very goal oriented. I turned to retail where I believe creativity and business need to harmonize to build a successful brand. I worked at Ralph Lauren for five years within Merchandise Planning. I absolutely loved it and I wanted to be able to continue the work but on a larger scale. I decided to pursue my MBA to hone my business skills and pivot into a role where I could continue to work with retail but do so outside the confines of a brand. I was very intentional about looking at schools outside of cities where I could be assured that the student body would be just as invested in the community as I intended to be. Ross was a clear stand out to me from the beginning because every student I spoke to I thought to myself: "I want to be their friend."
